Michelle Artz

Michelle brings a wealth of diverse experience in government affairs and advocacy. Most recently she served as the Director of Government Affairs for the American Nurses Association (ANA), overseeing the organization’s federal and state advocacy, grassroots and political engagement and Political Action Committee.
Michelle has a long history in health care advocacy. From 2002-2011 she held a number of roles within the ANA government affairs department including Advocacy and Engagement Specialist, Lobbyist and manager of the grassroots and political programs. Before rejoining ANA to run the department in 2014, Michelle spent two and a half years working in Alliance Development at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association (PhRMA), supporting the organization’s policy and advocacy efforts by fostering communication, relationships, and coalition building with the health care provider community.
Michelle’s past professional background of almost 25 years also includes field organizing, media relations, political action committee fundraising, and three years as a staff member in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives.
Michelle holds a Masters degree in Media and Public Affairs from The George Washington University, and an undergraduate degree in Professional Writing with a minor in Political Science from Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, PA.
